One Small Thing That Will Help You Snack Smarter

Trust me, I've been there. Because of my workload and all of the things I had going on, I noticed I would often skip meals and replace them with unhealthy snacks. I remember when I was in Corporate America, and I was obsessed with making s'mores in the office microwave. I had a box of graham crackers, a bag of marshmallows, and chocolate in my desk drawer. Around 3 p.m. when that workday slump would take over, I would pop into the kitchen and make some s'mores. Needless to say the stomachaches were frequent, but so worth it. Snacking wasn't my only problem. I skipped breakfast often, and grabbed something unhealthy with my co-workers for lunch. Over the last few months, I have made a commitment to take better care of myself. I've been taking supplements, eating clean, going to the gym a few times a week, drinking more water, and trying to get a good night's sleep. (Operative word: trying. If you watch my Instagram stories, you know that my usual bedtime is 3AM.) Health is truly wealth, and I've been trying to create new routines in my life for this very reason. When you aren't able to completely take care of yourself, physically emotionally and mentally, you are unable to execute. You cannot be the best employee, the rockstar business owner, or the best version of yourself when you are unhealthy. Sadly my bad snack habits followed me, when I started to work from home. I never thought that it would result in me taking less care of myself. When we're home, at a co-working space, or in our office, we tend to eat in a very unhealthy way, because we feel like we are pressed for time. Eating healthy is hard, regardless of where you're at.
